PERRY’S VICTORY AND INTERNATIONAL PEACE MEMORIAL

Battle of Lake Erie
September 10, 2021 at 3:15pm

Each year on and around September 10, we celebrate the anniversary
of Oliver Hazard Perry’s defeat of the British fleet in The Battle of Lake Erie on September 10, 1813,
and the enduring peace between the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada for more than 200 years.
We want to continue the traditional celebrations built over the last 20+ years and expand them
to include all of South Bass Island. We invite everyone to join in this annual celebration of our history.

Below are a few ideas to get involved and show your community pride.
At 3:15pm on September 10
All Marinas – patriotic music with boat honk outs
Miller Boat Line and Jet Express – all vessels give a honk out
Ring the Church bells and Carillon
Restaurants/Bars – food/drink specials with this Victory Cheer
Our brave sailors on the lake — Ever flourish the laurels entwined
round their brows by a grateful country.
Crowd responds- Huzzah!
Wear your 1812 period clothing or your favorite Dont Give Up the Ship attire

Help spread the word, be creative, and encourage wide participation!

THANK YOU,
